I recently started following Jackie's blog Sweetie Pie Pumpkin Noodle. It's a sweet little blog that features everything from fashion to home goods and interior design. She has a great eye and always has such inspired posts. Here's her interview:
Looking back, how has blogging influenced your business or personal life, how has it changed the way you do and see things in your everyday life?
Blogging has definitely influenced my everyday life. There are so many inspiring bloggers out there, and I have gleaned so many great ideas from them. Be it party ideas, fashion tips, interior design ideas, etc., if you need a little inspiration, you can find it aplenty in blog land! Since I have started blogging, it has helped me to really define and understand my own personal style. I have also met wonderful fellow bloggers from around the globe that I would have never encountered had it not been for blogging, so for that I am very thankful. It makes being a little ol' housewife a lot more interesting!
How do you fit blogging into your "in person" responsibilities (work, family, play)?
My computer is at our built-in desk in the kitchen, so it is easily accessible at any time of the day. If my kids are taking a nap, engaged in a toy, or eating lunch I will take a quick second to log in and check my google reader. I usually wait until after the girls are in bed at night to put together posts for my own blog.
Do you view blogging as a "job" or a revenue producing project for yourself or your own small business?
No, as soon as I started looking at it as a "job" I probably wouldn't want to do it anymore. I blog merely for the fun of it.
If you don't mind sharing… how long have you been blogging for and what is your blog's "post" count to date?
I have been blogging for a year and have around 325 posts so far.
Do you have goals or upcoming changes slated for your blog in 2009? If so, can we have a sneak peek?
My 2009 theme is "Simplicity", so I think that might run over into my blog. I am thinking of doing weekly tips in which I share what I have been doing to help simplify my life.
What is a goal of yours outside your blog for 2009… either personal, entrepreneurial or otherwise?
I have a whole list of goals titled "27 before 28" which I am still working on for 2009.
What are three things about you that we may not know from reading your blog?
Hmmm, that is a tough one. Sometimes I think my blog readers know me better than my "real life" friends do!
I graduated college with a degree in Social Sciences, with aspirations to become a Social Worker of Forensic Psychologist. Turns out they were subjects I was interested in studying, but not interested in doing. I have no idea what I will do once I rejoin the workforce when my girls are school-aged.
I got married when I was only 20 to my high school sweetheart, whom I met when I was 14. A lot of people thought we were crazy for getting married so young, but here we are six married years later (almost thirteen years together total), with two little girls and still going strong!
I once opened my own event planning business. The day after I hooked up my business telephone line, I got a call from a prospective client and set up an interview. She ended up hiring me to plan her wedding. It was the most stressful thing I have ever done in my entire life. I was still working full time at my day job, so nights were completely devoted to this one wedding for an entire year. The wedding turned out wonderful, and the bride couldn't thank me enough. She is actually now one of my best friends four years later! I became pregnant with my first child shortly after the wedding and decided to just concentrate on being a mommy, so I "closed" my business. It was so much fun and I loved that I was able to use my creativity and organizational skills to help someone out, but I'm not sure if I could ever do it again.
What are three blogs that are inspiring you these days (if you can even narrow it down to three!)?
Oh lord, this is a serious toughie. I have about a top twenty of my definite favorites, but If I have to narrow it down to three:
1. Simple Lovely
2. Elements of Style
3. Cupcakes and Cashmere

Thanks Jackie! Go check out her blog and say hello!
Don't forget in the month of January I have asked some fellow bloggers to participate in a interview about their blogs, their life and their goals for 2009. (If you are interested in participating but did not receive an email from me... please email me at goodlifeforless (at) gmail (dot) com right away! I would love as many participants as possible and it will only take a few moments!!! All I ask in return is that you link to your interview on your site once it is live on mine.)
