Guest Post: My Husband Andrew!

Here it is... my first official guest post ever. By my own husband! I am so excited to post this as it was completely his idea! He emailed me the content and the links to the outfit items and then I worked up a polyvore outfit, got his approval, and here it is!

Enjoy and leave him some great comments and feedback... He's a really super guy, he will virtually high-five each of you for it! (and so will I!).

As the husband of a sensationally hot mother of two who spends endless amounts of time blogging, I felt it was high time there was a man’s point of view represented here. Perhaps this can become a regular feature on TGFL, but I doubt I am creative enough to go through this more than once. In the spirit of this blog, I thought I might put together one of my own “outfits”; something that I might wear on a date night with my wife during one of these arctic Michigan winter weekends.

I should state for the record that I don’t consider myself fashionable in any sense of the word, and if there’s any ounce of fashion in my wardrobe, it’s only due to the keen eye of my wife. I must also say that being a fashionable guy seems to take a lot less effort than being a fashionable gal. Women’s clothing has seemingly endless combinations of cuts, lengths, patterns, necklines, sleeve lengths, materials, colors, and fit types. Case and point: Go to Forever21.com and check out the number of tops that are offered for Women vs. Men. The result; 887 to 100. That’s actually a better ratio than I would have first thought, but you get the point.

In performing what I thought would be a fruitless exercise based in materialism, I realized two things:
1) Guys have a relatively insignificant amount of options when it comes to fashion, and
2) Being happy with your outward appearance actually does make you feel a bit like Patrick Dempsey, Brad Pitt or Brody Jenner (my wife’s current fave).

Men should be putting their best foot forward and making an effort for their wives, girlfriends and themselves. I don’t necessarily suggest putting together an outfit to post on your wife’s blog, but at least make an attempt to look like that sexy beast that you know she’s dying to see. I know I’m seriously considering making some online purchases to see where it might lead.
